Ed and Ted came across a small crowd that was gathered around a stall at the state fair. They were curious to what the excitement was so they decided to get a closer look. “What’s going on?” Ed asked.

“We’re watching to see if some idiot can ride that bronco machine,” he said pointing towards the noisy and fearsome looking machine. “Nobody has managed to stay on for the full three minutes yet. And there’s a prize of $1000 for anybody who can.

“I can do that!” Ed said confidently.
“No you can’t,” said Ted.
“I sure I can!” said Ed.

“You’ll get yourself killed if you try and ride that monster,” said Ted.
“Watch this,” said Ed as he climbed aboard the bronco machine.

Ed clung on with all his might as the machine thrashed wildly in every different direction. After two whole minutes the machine began spinning him making it harder for people to see him - but he still held on. Finally the three minutes were up and the crowd cheered as they saw that Ed was still on the machine.

He got off and collected his winnings and rejoined Ted. “Where did you learn to ride a bucking bronco like that!?” Ted asked.

“Remember three months ago,” Ed said…
“When my wife had whooping cough…?”
